KSF: Ancient Races 1

Here are two of the ancient races that existed prior to the fall of the Komari Empire at the hands of the Homunculi. In the first two, we have the machine-like Primechs and the vicious, insectoid Kheperians. Both served as major threats towards Komari dominance and were eventually conquered and subjugated into slavery. However, after the Homunculi took over, the Primechs and Kheperians are reduced into thousands of pocket empires in the size of two solar systems. Despite this, they both remain as major powers struggling to regain their existence against the Homuncui and their oppressive regime that has lasted for millions of years.

== Primechs ==
The Primechs are a machine-like race that once dominated the western worlds of the Milky Way after the emergence of the Komari Empire. Created by a race with a short life-span, they served as their successors and thus formed a collective hierarchy governed by a council of wise leaders called the Benefactors. Under their leadership, the Benefactors were responsible for every action they launched throughout all history with some success. However, they eventually made contact with the already powerful Komari and had thus declared war against them for two million years. By the end of the bloody conflict, known as the Primech Wars, the Komari enslaved the machines, forcing them to mine for valuable resources for their new rulers. By the time the Homunculi had occured and decimated much of Komari civilization, the Primechs rebelled and eventually formed a resistance against both of the two races. Currently, they struggle for their survive and have been fighting for their existence since the end of the Komari-Homunculus War.

== Kheperians ==
The Kheperians, commonly known as "Bugs" by their foes and allies, are a race of insectoid beings capable of sentient thought mixed with animalistic instinct. Formally a nomadic race, they reside within the southeastern parts of the Milky Way. Although independent from a hivemind, they remain extremely dependent on an ordered society governed by a queen. Before their contact with the Komari, the Kheperians were once a civilization that was built under an authoritarian form of hereditary monarchy mixed with unitarian ideals. Because of their ten million year voyage, their evolution has made them a deadly force to fight against, especially when encountered by a superpower such as Germanicus or Cambria. Eventually, they discovered by the Komari Empire and were then forcibly enslaved into pit battles and manual labor. When the Homunculi occurred, the Kheperians resisted and formed large, yet divided swarms that raided the worlds in the eastern fringe of the galaxy.
